ABSTRACT

Introduction: Changes in our bodies can cause several problems, particularly for students who are concerned about maintaining an ideal body shape. Many of them try to diet, but their body returns to its previous weight or even increases in weight. Thus, this study aimed to determine the factors that influence the incidence of weight cycling in Indonesian students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This cross-sectional study used purposive sampling to collect data. Three hundred college students from West Java province, Indonesia, participated. Weight cycling was the dependent variable and the independent variables were physical activity, sex, and weight management. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the factors influencing the incidence of weight cycling. Results: Sex, physical activity, skipping meals, and snacking were determinants related to weight cycling incidence. Females had a 0.7 times higher risk of experiencing weight cycling than males. Inactive students were 4.7 times more likely to become weight cyclers, and those who rarely skipped mealtime had lower risk of being weight cyclers. Students who sometimes and always consumed snacks had higher risk of becoming weight cyclers by 3.3 and 2.7 times, respectively, compared to those who rarely consumed snacks. Conclusion: Regular physical activity, not skipping meals, especially breakfast, and practising a healthy diet every day are recommended strategies to avoid weight cycling during a pandemic. © 2023,Malaysian Journal of Nutrition. ABSTRACT

Introduction: When Covid-19 cases soar, physical distancing is enforced. The potential increase in domestic violence occurs in the movement of individuals and persons who are restricted and persons confined to their households, where the victim is trapped with the violent perpetrator. This study was administered to describe domestic violence types experienced by married women living in urban slum areas in Bandung, Indonesia, and to assess the causes. Methods: 300 married women who lived in urban areas in Bandung, Indonesia, were selected as the study samples using purposive sampling technique. This study employed cross-sectional design using structured interviews. The analysis of this study used Multivariate Logistics Regression test using STATA version 16. Results: 78.3% of married women have experienced domestic violence emotionally, physically, and sexually. The most common emotional violence is husbands always trying to find out where their wives are when they are out of the house (58.0%), while the most common sexual violence is forcing sexual intercourse when wife is not interested (11%). Factors causing domestic violence include family income (p-value: 0.006;OR:0.41) and husband alcohol consumption habits (p-value: 0.050;OR: 0.14). Conclusion: The negative impacts of women who have received domestic violence include mental, physical and female reproductive health. Comprehensive health services for women victims of violence need to be improved in all sectors, both government and non-government. © 2022 UPM Press. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate the anecdote text written by tenth grade students of MA AssulaimaniyahMojoagung, Indonesia. It was taught in the first semester by using Schoology learning management system (LMS) that implemented flipped classroom learning in the era of covid-19. This study was qualitative research in form of case study with a total subject was 21 students. From 21 students, 5 students who had good ability in writing anecdote text and communication were chosen as sample to be interviewed. The instruments were test questions, interview and observation guidelines. Data was collected by using tests, conducting interviews, and observing the learning process. Data was validated by using triangulations of data, researcher, and theory. Technique in analysing data was content analysis that was started from 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) drawing conclusion/verification. The results of study showed that in the ion, the students wrote about the afternoon setting with rainy condition. In the orientation, they created conflicts between the characters in the text. In the crisis/complication, they created a conversation about the cheap fuel notes. In the reaction, there was a form of satire or criticism in the text. In the coda, they wrote rhetorical sentences that became the end of conversation in anecdote text. ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has very quickly changed various human behavior including the world of education. Maritime Education is one that feels the impact of the pandemic. Various Solutions in educational technology must be quickly adjusted to fill the gap and ensure learning is not disrupted. Although online learning is not new, with the pandemic can accelerate digital learning used to overcome and improve the quality of online learning. Article we want to convey our experience in organizing maritime education at the Semarang Shipping Science Polytechnic using case study techniques. The results of this study revealed that although online learning is very helpful for teaching and learning activities during the pandemic, it has not been able to replace practical learning. With the decline of Covid-19 pandemic cases in Indonesia, the author wants to make short-term breakthroughs and possible long-term solutions that can contribute to learning in the future. The use of learning recordings with simulators, practicum recordings and theoretical learning recordings is expected to help maritime learning in the future.
